I had a realization today. I didn’t plan out the dates for all this very well. It was mainly the month I lost doing the P90X Lean plan. But I leave for California for school on the 24th. This means I have less than a week and then I’m done. I didn’t even think it was this soon. When I started the P90X Classic plan again, I thought I’d be able to get through this third week before I left. My mistake for not looking at the calendar more closely.

So for now, tomorrow is my last day of P90X Classic. I will have only managed to complete 6 weeks. I will take my progress pictures, weigh in, and stretch. Monday I will retest, doing my max reps for pushups and pullups, along with Ab Ripper X. Tuesday I’ll do Plyometrics, and Wednesday I’ll do Core Synergistics. This is the best I can plan for now for my situation.

Once I get back to school, I plan on starting Beachbody’s new workout videos series, Insanity.

Day 41 – Kenpo X

Another Kenpo X workout, another major butt kicking. This is such a fun workout. It gets me drenched in sweat, but I have a blast the entire time. So it’s always enjoyable. Tomorrow is weigh in and picture day. Awesome.

Day 40 – Legs and Back / Ab Ripper X

Had a really hard day today. But I hit another high on total unassisted reps for pullups: 72. That averages out to doing 9 pullups per set. Awesome! If I’m able to do multiple sets of between 7 and 10, then that means my max must be doing really well! I’m very excited about that.

Ab Ripper X was incredibly difficult today. Doing 25 reps per set has been a big challenge in and of itself. But doing that on top of the Legs and Back workout? My hip flexors were hurting like crazy. I was aching in the first sets of bicycles and crunchy frogs. So everything after that was just really really difficult. But I’m still doing it, and I know it’s serving me well.

Tomorrow is light cardio with Kenpo, then it’s weigh in time Sunday. We’ll see if I reverse the curse and drop beneath 170 or if I really am putting on more muscle now.

Day 39 – Rest Day

Took today as a pure rest day. I did a little bit of stretching on my own, covering the major muscle groups and making sure to stretch what was sore. Mostly took it easy, which is always nice.

Day 38 – Back and Biceps / Ab Ripper X

Kicked some butt today. I got through today in far better shape than last week. In other words, I could actually lift my laptop bag with one arm at the end of it. All 10 pounds.

Ab Ripper X was still really hard. I don’t think it will get much easier in the next week either. I think it’s going to challenge me until the end.

Tomorrow is a nice rest and X Stretch day. It’ll be nice to relax.

Day 37 – Plyometrics

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes! Had a fantastic day! I’ve never felt this great after a Plyometrics workout. The endorphins are flowing freely. I’m feeling spectacular. I don’t know why I felt so great today. I fought through the entire workout and held up really well. The best I’ve ever done. It was great. I wish I could feel this great every workout.

Day 36 – Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps / Ab Ripper X

Kicked a lot of butt today. I made some good progress on a few exercises, which felt great. Even the extra reps on Ab Ripper X wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be. It was tough, and I definitely made friends with the pause button. But it still went well.

Day 35 – X Stretch

Weighed in this morning. I hit my weight plateau again, just like last year. What I mean is that with my body frame, I really can’t seem to get below a certain weight. For me, that weight is 170 pounds. I haven’t weighed under 170 since I was growing up. I managed to hit just under it 2 weeks ago. But I hit a limit, where my body no longer seems to burn off fat at the same rate, and I start to gain weight back in the form of muscle. This isn’t a bad thing of course. It’s actually a good thing. I just find it frustrating that with all my work, I can’t get under that 170 pound bar. I’ve got 2 weeks to try and get back under it. Today I weighed in at 77.6 kg, which is just barely over 171 pounds. I hope I can manage to break that barrier in the next two weeks, if not only to be able to say that I did it.

As for today, I took it easy. Did X Stretch, felt great, and love seeing the advancements in my flexibility. Tomorrow I kick my Ab Ripper X reps all the way to 25. This is going to tough.

Day 34 – Kenpo X

My biceps and hamstrings and glutes were really tight today. Terrible. I spent all morning in the backyard doing yard work. Digging up grass and such to put in  a new flower bed. So I got a workout in this morning. I did my Kenpo late in the afternoon. I just went in and kicked butt today. Nothing special needs to be said. It was a good workout, and I’m interested in seeing what the scale has to say tomorrow. I’m eating healthy and burning fat, but I’m wondering if these new workouts are going to produce enough muscle to offset the weight loss. We’ll see.

Day 33 – Legs and Back / Ab Ripper X

Tough day today. I felt pretty good through the Legs an Back, but once I hit Ab Ripper X it went downhill fast. I’m not sure why. But my pullups were awesome once again! I managed to do 64 unassisted repetitions today! I’m really excited about that! Especially considering how sore my biceps and forearms are. So in the next two weeks, I can’t wait to test pullups again and see what I can do.

Also, this was my last week of doing 21 reps on Ab Ripper X. Next week I’m doing the full 25 reps on every set. It’s going to be really difficult, but it should give me great results.
