Day 68 – Legs and Back (And Arms)

I’m really excited about today’s workout! I had a hard time once again getting up to go again, since this is my least favorite workout out of the ones I do. But now I’m so pumped up that I might enjoy my last few times doing it.

Why am I so excited? As I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I’ve begun doing my pull ups unassisted, trying to do as many as possible without a chair as opposed to how I did it in the beginning. What happened today? I completed the entire workout without a chair! For the first 7 pull up variations I did 6 reps each, and on my last set, I managed to do 8. So in one workout, I did 50 pull ups! That’s so incredible to me! I just feel like I’m doing so much better with pull ups now that I’m forcing myself to go to my limits as opposed to using help. I wish I had been doing this since the beginning. Who knows how well I’d be doing now? But I’m still glad I’m doing it now, because  feel great about it all. I threw in 6 extra sets of arms moves today was well. Two sets of regular curls with 25’s (which felt heavy due to all the pullups), and a set of curls with supination with a set of 20’s. I did a superset of each of these with lying tricep extensions, standing tricep extensions, and a move I’ve been taught to be a “prison press,” all with 20’s. I could really see my arms working hard, and it was pretty awesome. I feel great about today’s workout. And tomorrow is Kenpo X, so I’ll be partying tomorrow.

Lunch was a whey protein shake, a pesto chicken sandwich, and some Sun Chips.
